IN HEARTS WAKE features 2 Vox Singing Academy – Peter Vox singing students. In Hearts Wake are coming out of writing mode to play Download festival 2020 supporting My Chemical Romance. 2020 will see In Hearts Wake released a new studio album and tour the world in support of the new album.
In Hearts Wake are an Australian melodic post-hard-core-hard rock band from Byron Bay, formed in 2006, currently consisting of Peter Vox & Vox Singing Academy students on vocals – Jake Taylor (dirty, screaming & clean lead vocals), Kyle Erich (lead & backing clean & husky vocals, bass guitar). They have released two EPs, Into the Storm and The Gateway, and three full-length studio albums, Divination, Earthwalker and Skydancer, a split CD with The Bride and a split single with Northlane titled Equinox. The band’s lyrical themes include environmentalism and other social issues.
In February and March 2014 In Hearts Wake played Soundwave Festival in Australia for the first time. Before playing at Soundwave the band headlined the Skydancer Australia tour with support from Hand of Mercy and Hellions. The earnings of the tour went to the band’s own Skydancer project.
The musicians announced they would release a new album in 2014. It is called Earthwalker and was set to be released on May 2, 2014 and in Europe in the End of May. The album peaked at No. 5 at official ARIA Charts. In June the band will tour Australia again to promote Earthwalker with support from Being as an Ocean, Dream On, Dreamer, Endless Heights, and Sierra.
In early March 2015 the band announced that they would be releasing a new album titled Skydancer scheduled for release in May 2015. Jake Taylor stated in a documentary that the band actually recorded the new album alongside their 2014 release Earthwalker.
In August 2015 the band opened up for Northlane in North America & Canada on their Node tour with Oceans Ate Alaska & Like Moths to Flames as support. They also returned to North America in October to support Parkway Drive on their IRE tour while also joining Miss May I & Thy Art is Murder as support.
On April 19, 2016, the band announced that they had been working on a collaborative EP with Northlane entitled “Equinox”. It was recorded in Sydney with producer Will Putney. The EP features three songs: “Refuge”, “Equinox” and “Hologram” and was released on April 20, through UNFD. The band have stated that they will be playing all songs live on the Equinox tour, co-headlined by Northlane and supported by Hands Like Houses.
On 2 April 2017, the band unveiled a new song “Warcry” during their UK tour. On 26 April, another single, “Passage”, was released, and it was announced that both tracks were taken from their upcoming album Ark. After the release of Ark on 26 May,
Debuting at #3 on the ARIA Album Chart, Ark further cemented In Hearts Wake’s status as one of the leading lights of melodic post-hard core-hard rock.
On the touring front, In Hearts Wake have looped the planet multiple times in 2017 & 2018. The band have won new friends and fans from multiple US runs including Vans Warped Tour, and stints supporting Parkway Drive and August Burns Red. They have also taken the fight to European festivals such as Download, Graspop, Groezrock and Vainstream and successfully toured South East Asia, while continuing to become bigger than ever at home in Australia.
On 2 February 2018, the band released Ark Prevails, a four-track Ark companion EP.
2019 seen In Hearts Wake in writing mode for their fifth studio album which is yet to be titled.
